Custom Wooden Rings

SEND US A PIECE OF WOOD TO BE INLAID INTO YOUR BAND OR ENGAGEMENT RING

Enhance the personal significance of your Casavir Jewelry ring by having us inlay a piece of wood that you send us, or work with us to create a custom designed wooden ring. We can work with fairly small pieces; a chunk of lumber, a pruned branch, a piece of furniture or instrument – basically anything made from solid wood can be used in your ring.

We regularly work with customers to create custom wood engagement rings, either with wood that they provide, or with one of the many types of wood that we stock here in the studio.

We also work with customer-provided stone, beach sand, and seashells. When working with stone and seashells, we typically break them down into small pieces that are inlaid into wood, or inlaid directly into the metal.

The most common material that customers send us is wood. If you are considering having your own wood inlaid into a ring, please note that we will need a piece that is at least 3/4 inch in diameter by 5 inches long.

Thinking of including your own materials in one of our designs or would like to inquire about a custom design? Feel free to contact us to discuss it, check out our wood wedding rings or wood engagement rings for ideas, or see the examples below for inspiration.

14k White Gold, Redwood, Lab Diamonds

This custom wooden ring set was made from the heartwood of a little redwood branch that a couple sent in. Her engagement-style ring is paired with a matching ring that hugs its contours, both set with lab-created diamonds. His ring is 7mm wide.

Black Walnut & Meteorite

This ring was made from the branch of a walnut tree that the customer’s grandfather planted. He wanted the ring to be made in a style that we offer in our wood rings shop section. This style pairs wood and iron meteorite shavings.

Sapphire, Koa Wood

A custom wood ring that was made with a 2 carat purplish champagne colored sapphire that the customer sourced for us to use. She requested two trillion cut accent diamonds (.50 total carat weight) to be set to either side of the sapphire. The ring is made in 14k white gold and inlaid with koa wood.

Mangrove & Guitar String Set

A small mangrove branch was sent to us from a couple in Florida, who also wanted a piece of guitar string that they provided inlaid into one of their bands. There was a very small strip of beautiful darker brown-red heartwood at the center of the branch that we were able to use.

Rum Cruise Engagement

The piece of wood used in this ring was sent to us by a couple who had recently been engaged on a Caribbean rum cruise. They wanted to create a wedding band that would serve as a reminder of their wonderful trip, so they sourced a piece of barrel wood from a distillery in the US to use in their ring.

We inlaid 14k rose gold on either side of the wood at the request of the couple, which added the final touch to a stunning ring.

Applewood & Titanium

This apple tree wood was sent to us by a couple being married at an apple orchard.

Fruit tree wood tends to make beautiful wooden rings; the heartwood and sapwood often contrasts nicely with one another, and pleasing swirls and patterns are often present.

Centuries Old Elm Wood Engagement Ring

The wood used in this ring was sent to us by a customer who had access to a piece of 700-900 year old elm wood. The wood was originally used as a stake to plot out a burgage lot in the UK.

Elm is ordinarily a lighter colored wood. In this case, minerals in the soil reacted with the tannins in the wood to gradually (over centuries!) change its color to a very deep, almost black brown. Interestingly, the wood has a slight blue tinge to it.

200+ Year Old Wood From Warship

A small piece of an 1812 warship was sent to us to be inlaid into a wedding band set. The wood was still intact and hard, but very fragile, so we had to carefully inlay it piece by piece.

The men’s ring is made in titanium, and the women’s ring is made in 14k rose gold.

Preseli Bluestone Wedding Bands

This ring set was made for a couple who provided us with a small chunk of preseli bluestone.

Presli bluestone is one of the names given to the type of rock used to build Stonehenge. It was also used to make prehistoric tools, such as axe heads, and is named after the location in which it is primarily found: Preseli Hills in Pembrokeshire, Wales.

Antler & Wood

A ring made for a customer who sent us some antler and wood. The wood was a lighter colored North American variety that we stained to better contrast with the off-white color of the antler.
