A New Chapter: Lumis & Casavir Are Merging

For over 12 years, Casavir Jewelry has been defined by one core pursuit: creating high quality jewelry that incorporates a little piece of the natural world, namely, wood. Earning your trust as a destination for high quality wood jewelry has been an incredible journey.

Over the years at the bench, our fabrication techniques began to expand. Nate, our main jeweler and designer, found himself exploring his childhood fascination with gemstones. He was also drawn to some of the more traditional lost-wax casting methods that use sculptural elements in the fabrication process. The result was a journey to learn gemstone cutting and new methods of working with wax.

These interests are far enough away from our primary focus of wooden jewelry, that we decided to give them a dedicated home in order to keep the specialized wood-oriented style that Casavir Jewelry is known for. So, we created an off-shoot website called Lumis Jewelcraft.

Given the Trump administration’s August 2026 50% tariffs on Canadian goods, we have decided to focus primarily on domestic, Canadian sales: We are merging Lumis Jewelcraft into Casavir Jewelry, and moving away from exclusively wooden pieces. Lumis Jewelcraft’s gemstones and one of a kind jewelry have already been brought to this website.

By merging the two websites, everything we create is now available under one roof. This consolidation allows us to focus entirely on what matters most: crafting pieces for clients here at home.

Operating exclusively out of our Ontario studio, this unified online storefront is dedicated to serving the Canadian market. By keeping all lapidary and fabrication entirely in-house, we can ensure that domestic clients have direct access to duty-free shipping without the unpredictability of cross-border tariffs.
